Company Profile

Paraiso Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based duly registered corporation established in November 1, 1992 with business interests primarily in Philippine travel and tour operations catering to the travel needs of Japan-based Filipino migrants and marketing vehicle of Japan’s biggest telecom phone card brands for this specific market.

Years later, the company’s core business enterprise that began in 1992 spiraled to doing sales promotion and concert/event launches for these telecommunication giants, further, cornering about 80% share of the phone card sales among its captured Filipino market scattered Japan-wide. The continuing rise of the Filipino migrant’s population in the 80’s, sparked on its founder, Hisayoshi Tanishima, the aspiration to provide more services complementary to the growing needs of the rising Filipino communities of that time.

Thus, inspired the publishing of Paraiso Magazine, with the foremost mission of bridging Japan and the Philippines by way of updated and relevant images and editorials that Filipinos are passionate about, one that could readily inform and reach the growing numbers of Filipinos of what is missed home (the Philippines) while domiciled in their newly adopted country - Japan.

To sustain this laudable vision and fulfill the specific mission of the magazine, its founder and still concurrent CEO-President, Hisayoshi Tanishima, partnered with Japan’s biggest telecom conglomerates: NTT Communications, KDDI, and Japan’s largest internet company, Softbank Telecom. Thus, from a pioneer publication that initially served as a marketing tool for its telecom partners, Paraiso Magazine through the years has gone through revolutionary changes - where every issue must be passionate not just to inform but touch, inspire, entertain, and, with its free-flowing of ideas, somehow stir the reader’s awareness in general.

Now, in its more than 19 years of serving the Filipino migrants through the publication, Paraiso Co., Ltd. has maintained its leadership and delivered the distinctive Filipino voice and advocacy, and has even opened doors of business opportunities among its enterprisingly captured and loyal migrant readers.

And, in the light of ever strengthening the ties between Japan and the Philippines, Paraiso Co., Ltd., launched its latest title in July 2006, the PHW (The Philippine Walker) Magazine, a publication specifically intended for Japanese readers, serving as info portfolio of the best and the extreme about the Philippines, similarly, serving as a travel guide in going around the metro and the country’s other islands.

Aside from these two titles: Paraiso and PHW Magazine, Paraiso Co., Ltd., continues to do to this day its multi-various ventures the way it has been doing since 1992. But, above all its endeavors, the forefront of all its business goals and activities is in acknowledging and addressing the needs of its deserving and captive Filipino migrant market in whatever humble ways it could because these migrants are the very pillars that placed the company’s milestone where it stands now.
